How we choose what we link to
Two kinds of links, two clear standards:
- Seed banks — founder recommendations.We only link to seed banks our founder has personally grown out. If he hasn’t run the genetics himself, it doesn’t get a link. These are literally the banks he’d point a fellow grower to — drawn from years of hands-on, licensed cultivation experience.
- Grow gear — earned on the reviews.For equipment and supplies (largely through Amazon), we start from what’s genuinely well-regarded: products with strong, consistent ratings from verified purchasers that fit the problem at hand. We won’t claim we’ve personally tested every piece of gear — but we won’t link to something the track record doesn’t back.
Across both: a commission never buys a spot, and if something stops meeting the bar, the link comes down.
It never changes the advice
This is the part that matters most to us. A commission never decides what CannabAI recommends. Guidance is based on your grow — your space, your stage, your problem — and grounded in real cultivation science. We suggest gear only when your situation actually calls for it, and we’d point you to the same solution whether there was a link attached or not.
If the best answer is something you already own, a cheaper fix, or no purchase at all, that’s what you’ll hear.
Where affiliate links appear
You may find affiliate links in the CannabAI chat, in our blog posts, and anywhere else we recommend a specific product. Wherever one appears, we’ll flag it clearly and close to the link — so you always know when a recommendation carries one before you click.
Buying through a third party
When a purchase runs through a third party — such as an online retailer or seed bank — that company’s own terms, pricing, shipping, and policies apply to your order, not ours. Check local laws before ordering; rules on seeds and cultivation vary by location, and that’s on you to verify.
